Vintage Registration Plates

Act 25, signed into law on April 12, 2012, provides for a vintage registration plate to be displayed in lieu of a special antique or classic registration plate for this type of vehicle.

A vintage registration plate is a "period issued" registration plate from 1906 to 1975 to be displayed on an antique or classic vehicle with the same corresponding year of manufacture. Vintage registration plates will not be manufactured or issued by the Department. Applicants are required to provide the vintage plate they wish to display on their antique or classic vehicle.

Form MV-11V, "Application to Display a Vintage Registration Plate", has been created to accommodate these requests. The fee to apply to display a vintage registration plate is $75. NOTE: This is in addition to any fees that may be due for antique or classic registration.
